Bolsonaro respalda ataque de EUA contra Soleimani
El presidente de Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, declaró que respalda al gobierno de Estados Unidos y los hechos recientes en los que murió el general de las Fuerzas Especiales Quds, Qasem Soleimani. El mandatario brasileño concedió una entrevista al programa Brasil Urgente de la televisora Bandeirantes, donde acusó al militar fallecido de haber participado en el ataque terrorista de 1994, contra la sede de la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA), ubicada en Buenos Aires. Según las declaraciones del presidente, el ataque ocasionó en su momento la muerte de al menos 85 personas, por lo que otorgó su respaldo a la “lucha contra el terrorismo” que ha mantenido Estados Unidos de forma histórica y colocó a Brasil como un aliado de Donald Trump. En cuanto a la postura de Irán de ejercer una fuerte venganza en contra de Estados Unidos, Bolsonaro afirmó que ésta sería una decisión suicida por parte del gobierno iraní. Bolsonaro también afirmó que su principal preocupación en torno al conflicto y que impacta directamente a Brasil es el posible incremento de los precios internacionales del petróleo, lo cual daría un fuerte golpe a los países latinoamericanos que intentan superar la crisis económica de la región. El gobierno brasileño ya había expresado anteriormente su respaldo a la postura estadounidense al condenar el asalto a la embajada de EUA en Bagdad, sin embargo, había mantenido silencio frente a la muerte de Soleimani. Durante la entrevista en Brasil Urgente, el Ejecutivo brasileño hizo un llamado a respetar la Convención de Viena y destacó que el terrorismo no es un problema exclusivo de Medio Oriente y que no sólo afecta a Estados Unidos, sino a Latinoamérica y el resto del mundo. Qasem Soleimani fue un líder militar asesinado el pasado 2 de enero, cuando Estados Unidos realizó un ataque aéreo en su contra en las cercanías del aeropuerto internacional de Bagdad. El jefe de la fuerza Quds de la Guardia Revolucionaria iraní fue acusado por Washington de ser el estratega detrás de los recientes ataques contra funcionarios estadounidenses en Medio Oriente.
